Hi! I’m Dean Milan — director, cinematographer, photographer, and colorist.
From a young age, I loved exploring different hobbies and activities, but filmmaking is what I always came back to. Telling stories through cinema and visual media quickly became my passion, all thanks to support from middle school teachers and my parents.
I started a YouTube channel in April 2016, which ignited my love for cinematography, storytelling, and analog film even brighter. I love capturing the world around me and shaping projects into experiences that resonate with an audience.
In high school at Cypress Bay, I joined our official Tv and media club program that produced weekly episodes for our show "Aftershock". There, I dove into documentaries, local news segments, music videos, short films, dramas, and comedic skits. I also competed in media programs like Student Television Network (STN), SkillsUSA, and Becon TV, gaining valuable experience on every type of project.
Photography has always been a big part of my journey — both digital and analog. Shooting on film, developing it, and combining scans with my colorist skills has led to some of my favorite work, especially using Kodak stock, Lightroom Classic, and Negative Lab Pro. At SCAD, I expanded these skills into motion picture capture, learning to work with Panavision Panaflex cameras, ARRIFLEX systems, Bolex H16, and more.
I graduated from Cypress Bay High in 2021, and from the Savannah College of Art and Design in 2025 with a BFA in Film/TV Production and a minor in Sound Design, summa cum laude! I approach every project with curiosity, dedication, and collaboration, always striving to expand my skills and portfolio.
Let’s create something amazing.
— Dean Milan

SCAD was a fantastic 4 year program filled with opportunities to work on dozens of films and alternative mediums of projects at an unprecedented scale of quality, with additional art departments involved, such as theatre, production design, acting, and sound teams. I have made some of my best connections and friends here, and will always cherish what I got to create here. Cheers to graduating the new opportunities post-grad!
